Building WatchWithout.com

WatchWithout is a simple, web-based tool that solves a specific problem: If you receive a shared TikTok video on your phone TikTok will try to force you to download the app.

WatchWithout modifies the URL on the fly and provides a new link that allows the user to wath the shared video without having to download the app.

This is great for people that want to watch the occasional TikTok video without being sucked into a dark abyss of addiction (e.g. me).

Since launch, the site has really taken off and now has about 35,000 monthly active users.

The idea is to keep the site ad free, but users can support it through 'buying me a coffee'.
